Marcella is, by all accounts, average looking woman. She stands at an unimpressive 5'3''. Broad-shouldered, hefty, she is built like a swimmer, with strong arms to match her preference for wielding sword and dagger.Her hair is dark brown, with the reds coming out under the right light. Notably, her eyes are of dark brown, looking almost black in the shadows, unintentionally giving her a doe-eyed look.Most notable feature is a lattice of various tattoos across her sienna skin. They follow no particular pattern, having likely been applied for aesthetic and sentimental value. Some of the tattoos are broken by myriad of scars.

Marcella dresses modestly, preferring darker color over splashes of vibrance, though it's not uncommon to see her wear something more characteristic for a heartlander - loose comfortable cottons and linens with modest pattern, or practical furs and wools.Personality wise, Marcella can be seen as taciturn, though, in right circumstances, she is not afraid of making japes and jokes. She possesses a rare art of disconnecting, and allowing herself a moment of respite to think, which often translates into sequestering herself into solitude.The study of Shadow Magic of course left its mark on her, leaving her with mild paranoia and curiosity.

Marcella Baelsar was born a commoner near the Imperial City, the very capital. Her family, like many others in Heartlands, were taking advantage of the fertile soil, thus dedicating themselves to farming. They worked under noble family in the region.She was the only child of the family. Born under the constellation of Mage, she was quick to understand and even wield magic on an instinctual level. She did not want to be stuck working the land, and, when she was old enough to enlist, she joined Imperial Legions, having been assigned to the Second Legion. There she not only expanded on her combat magic skills, but also picked up sword fighting.

The woman took part in larger conflicts. For her successes she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was given a small squad. With them, she participated in Varen's rebellion, Icereach Coven campaign and further defense of Imperial Holdings.Planemeld changed everything. The society as she knew it fell apart, following Emperor's death. Some of her unit abandoned their duty, while Marcella remained with the rest fighting off daedra.Recently, Marcella made a comeback, throwing her lot with Black Legion of House Decentius. Having been separated from the unit for nearly two years, she seeks to catch up on time lost.

Common

Second Legion - Anyone who served in Second Legion might recognize the young Sergeant Baelsar. The woman was with the legion since the beginning of her career, serving until bitter end.

Icereach Coven - Marcella participated in the campaign against Icereach Coven, having followed her superior untilt hey had to withdraw. Marcella considers this experience to be important for her career.

Magic Matters - Having born under sign of Mage, Marcella takes natural interest in magic. She is open to both teaching and learning, as well as simply discussing theories.

Uncommon

Nightblade - Anyone who observed her fighting in any capacity would note that she weaves Shadow Magic into her attacks during the battle encounters. While she tries not to rely on it too much, it is very much there.

Reach Spellbreaker - Marcella possesses a rare knowledge of most Reach magic practices, and knows how to break them. She seeks to expand that knowledge, as well as put it to use.

Dark Dealings - Marcella has got out of impossible situation with half of her unit intact. Some attribute it to the divine intervention, but Marcella knows otherwise. She knows it, and lives with the fear of debt needing to be paid one day.
